Walk It Off, Champ - Funny Gen X Shirt

In 1987 I fell off the monkey bars onto real gravel. The treatment plan was to get up, brush it off and be home when the streetlights came on. A sprained wrist counted as character building. A bee sting got a wet paper towel and a firm 'you're fine.' Nobody called anybody. We drank from the garden hose, rode in the back of the pickup and turned out mostly okay, knees aside. A funny Gen X shirt for anyone who learned first aid from a coach with a whistle. Total copay: $0 and one popsicle.
THE FINE PRINT
Walk It Off, with its comma, over Champ in a fat retro script: off-white letters outlined in dark blue, with stacked orange and teal drop shadows stepping down to the right. GEN X HEALTHCARE sits underneath in small, rounded off-white capitals with no shadow.

Can you walk off a sprained ankle?
Sometimes, for a mild sprain: if you can bear weight with only mild pain, gentle walking is usually fine, and early movement often helps recovery. Severe pain, swelling that keeps growing, numbness, or being unable to take four steps are reasons to get it checked for a fracture. Rest, ice, compression and elevation cover the first couple of days. The coach's advice was right about half the time.
Why is Gen X called the forgotten generation?
Gen X, born roughly 1965 to 1980, is a smaller cohort wedged between two much larger ones, the Baby Boomers and the Millennials, so marketers, pollsters and the media tend to focus on the bigger groups on either side. Generational surveys and charts regularly skip it. Most of its members are fine with that and would rather not be asked.
Does rubbing dirt in a wound help?
No. Dirt carries bacteria, including the kind that causes tetanus, so rubbing it into a cut raises the risk of infection. Real first aid is to rinse the wound under clean running water, clear out any debris, apply an antibiotic ointment, cover it, and check that tetanus shots are up to date. The saying was always more about attitude than medicine.
