Free-Range Introvert - Funny Chicken Shirt
- Vendor
- WitMonger - Printed & Shipped From USA
Technically allowed out with everyone else. Spent the whole barbecue at the far end of the yard, checking on a tomato plant that did not need checking. Has a standing excuse to leave every party early: the chickens need shutting in. The chickens do not need shutting in until dark. The rest of the flock is welcome to keep talking about the new deck. A funny introvert shirt for anyone who would rather spend Saturday with the hens than the neighbors. Back in the coop by eight.
THE FINE PRINT
Five hens stand shoulder to shoulder in a tight row on the left. Out on the right, past a wide gap, a sixth hen heads off mid-stride on her own. FREE-RANGE and INTROVERT sit underneath in two rows of tall, widely spaced capitals. One golden-yellow ink throughout, worn and cracked.

ASKING FOR A FRIEND
What does free range really mean?
In the US, the USDA lets poultry be labeled free range when the birds have been given access to the outdoors. The rule does not set how big the outdoor area is or whether any bird actually goes out. Plenty of them never use the door, and nobody can make them.
Why do introverts hate small talk?
Most do not hate the person, just the format: small talk spends energy on information nobody needed, and introverts tend to find that more tiring than one long conversation about something real. Weather, traffic and the weekend forecast can all be checked on a phone in four seconds.
Why is one chicken always alone?
Usually it is one of three things: she is sick or hurt and keeping away from the others, she has dropped to the bottom of the pecking order and keeps getting chased off, or she has gone broody and wants to sit on eggs. A chicken that hides for more than a day is worth a closer look. Now and then she is perfectly healthy and simply prefers the far corner of the run.
